WRANGLER INDIGOOD COLLABORATION 2019
We're excited to share with you our collaborative project with Wrangler Australia. Donated preloved jeans from Wrangler's recent Denim Exchange project have been individually reworked and repurposed into one-of-a-kind woven panels, each embodying the past lives of the denim blended together into a sea of indigo. We love integrating up-cycled elements into our work and are impressed with Wrangler's efforts in moving towards more sustainable production methods of their latest Indigood range. Learn more about our partnership here.

EPISODE 50 - ‘WEAVE’ PODCAST WITH SARAH OF GIST YARN AND FIBRE
We had the pleasure to speak with Sarah of GIST Yarn and Fibre in her 50th episode of the ‘Weave’ Podcast. Yes 50 episodes all about fibre!
We're big fans of podcasts as they are a great way to get a deeper insight into the 'person' behind the brand/art and unveil the 'real life' happenings that occur behind these squares and pixels. Sarah questions us on how we first came across weaving, the decision of partnering up with a sibling, our experience of weaving 'BIG' and some parting advice for anyone wishing to create. We hope you find some valuable insights from our chat!
EPISODE 6 - THE FIBER ARTIST PODCAST with cindy of niroma studio

If you haven’t yet listened to her earlier episodes, get your headphones and be ready to learn more about the person behind the fibre! Here we share what Crossing Threads means for us, insights into our creative process and the joys and challenges of partnering up with someone, let alone working with your very own sibling. It’s always nice to put a face and voice to the tangible woven piece, as well as learn more about the true motivations behind what really goes on. We hope you enjoy!

STARTUP CREATIVE 'LIVE FROM THE FIELD WITH CROSSING THREADS' PODCAST
We recently shared honest insights and details of our current transition from side-hustle to main gig with the inspiring Kaylene of Startup Creative in her latest podcast: 'Live from the Field with Crossing Threads'. Things get real as we shed light on the emotional rollercoaster and pressures we've faced in our journey so far. Kaylene is spearheading the revolution that you CAN live your heart's deepest desires, offering her fundamental advice "to just start!". She quizzes us on what it's like to face your fear...
“We want to do this because this makes us happy, because we want more balance in our lives, because I want to be supporting a brand that I solely want to back… This time, I want to make everything worth my time on the Earth. And that really was a thought in my head when I handed in my resignation letter.” – Lauren
We hope you enjoy the conversation!

'the divide' for BAREFOOT ESCAPES, THE BAY COTTAGE BY THE DESIGNORY
We have teamed up on a super special collaboration with the awesome team at The Designory, a multi-disciplinary design studio based here in Sydney. The Designory is in the midst of building their highly anticipated ‘THE BAY’ properties in the heart of Byron Bay, NSW, as part of their new offering Barefoot Escapes. Featuring 3 unique residences, ‘THE BAY’ focuses on delivering a blend of luxe Australian style paired with quintessential Byron chic. For their first residence ‘THE BAY COTTAGE’ , we were asked to create a custom wall hanging based on our original design ‘THE DIVIDE’. It is always a treat to revisit an original design of ours that was created out of pure intuition and free flow of emotions. Approaching it the second time round with greater awareness and confidence encourages us to dig deeper and push further with our practice. This baby is our largest weave to date spanning 1.5 metres wide with 2.2 metre drop and weighing in at 15kg! It’s been a labour of love and one of big logistics but we’re so excited to finally take it off the loom.
To celebrate the launch of 'THE BAY COTTAGE', we've been kindly invited to visit and experience this divine home in the heart of Byron Bay in person! Beautifully installed, 'THE DIVIDE' hangs on two gorgeous oil tanned black leather pulls, showcasing the 15kg of mixed fibre and materials. We are so thrilled and grateful to play a part in bringing their vision to life.
To view more of THE BAY COTTAGE, see below!
If you're interested in a custom piece similar to THE DIVIDE, please don't hesitate to contact us.
We like to ensure with each of our clients receive an authentic, original piece of Crossing Threads art and not a direct copy of previous designs. Given the handmade nature of our work, no two pieces are alike and there would be some variations made to ensure each weave is truly one of a kind.
