My Saori weavings are intuitive, subconscious journal entries—woven reflections of how sudden sight loss reshaped my world. Diagnosed with limbal stem cell deficiency (LSCD), a condition that disrupts corneal healing and causes constant fluctuations in vision, I was thrown into uncertainty. Still adjusting to life after childbirth, I had no time to pause, assess, or process. I simply had to navigate the turbulence.

Over time, I found myself experiencing what I call "embolden clarity"—a deep, confident understanding that emerged even as my physical sight declined. While my vision blurred, my perception sharpened. I began to see with greater certainty, gaining insight through personal growth, new knowledge, and resilience.

When one sense weakens, the others adapt. In weaving, I relied on touch, allowing my hands to guide me. This process became an act of vulnerability—an openness to uncertainty, a willingness to trust. Beating down the weft felt like beating down self-doubt, stripping it of power, row by row. In that rhythmic motion, I found flow. I found healing.

Through my work, I hope to reach others who are navigating loss, change, or the unknown. I want my weavings to offer connection, validation, and encouragement—a reminder that clarity isn’t just about seeing, but about understanding, feeling, and moving forward with confidence. - Kass

CARE INSTRUCTIONS
Australian made and hand woven by Crossing Threads™. The buyer understands the terms that come with handcrafted products. Please handle with care. Our bespoke weaves are unique and designed to be a wall hanging and decorative textile only. Avoid moisture and rough objects/surfaces that may snag the fibres. Using a soft feather-duster, lightly brush off any dust build-up. Alternatively, you can vacuum the weaving using a soft brush head and set it on the lowest setting possible.

Please note, for international shipments, it is important for the importer / receiver to be aware that the destination country's Customs Service may be in touch during the import clearance process for instructions or the payment of import duties etc. Any additional custom taxes or import duties are the responsibility of the importer /receiver. Delays in processing can cause additional charges to be levied for the receiver or the freight to be rejected by the receiving country resulting in destruction or return of the item at the sender's cost to its point of origin in Australia. Crossing Threads packs each weave with the utmost care and protection, however we do not take responsibility for any potential damage to the weave/s and or loss of weave/s whilst in transit. We strongly suggest the buyer to opt for including item value insurance due to the nature of our bespoke pieces. Please let us know if you would like us to arrange this for your order.
