TESTIMONIALS

‘EMANATE’ private commission.

‘EMANATE’ is a mesmerising woven masterpiece, meticulously commissioned and crafted by Lauren and Kass with remarkable attention to detail. This extraordinary artwork effortlessly captures the colours of the surrounding environment but also the unique feel of the space it inhabits. As its proud owner, I can attest to its captivating influence and the admiration it elicits from those who view it.

I would like to extend sincere gratitude to Lauren and Kass for their exceptional work and making the commissioning process an effortless experience.

‘DALAWIN’ private commission.

We commissioned Lauren and Kass to create an artwork for a blank wall on our staircase; they created a piece of art that has been woven with much love and intention, with their own story intertwined with ours.

The entire process was very collaborative and so smooth. We provided an initial brief input regarding concepts, colours and textures and Lauren and Kass interpreted this brief perfectly.

The end result was ‘DALAWIN’, which means ‘to visit’ in Tagalog. This artwork and its meaning resonates deeply with us; a constant yet gentle reminder that we are ‘visiting’ in this life and to make the most of it while leaving as light a footprint as possible.

‘DALAWIN’ is unique and dramatic, and the interplay between light and shadow during the day gives it personality, life and vitality.

‘DALAWIN’ complements the contemporary design and palette in our home. Thank you so much Lauren & Kass for creating such a meaningful, unique piece. It is absolutely stunning and we are so thrilled with it!

‘TWO WORLDS COLLIDE’ private commission.

When we made the choice to redesign a room in our home we knew we’d need something bold, creative and full of energy to accomplish the feel we wanted. From the beginning Lauren and Kass were amazing to work with. They asked questions and listened to what we were trying to achieve. They learned about us, our history and hopes for the project. Their intuitiveness for how to create the perfect piece was so appreciated. Their communication was consistent throughout the process with many updates. Lauren maintained a schedule for completion with impressive efficiency. Working during months of isolation during the pandemic she brought the gorgeous ‘TWO WORLDS COLLIDE’ to life. We are beyond grateful for her patience and care. It will be treasured for generations and is the perfect anchor to the room and testament to its inspirations. Working with Crossing Threads was a pleasure.

‘TIYAGA’, meaning perseverance in Tagalog, spoke to us the moment we saw it. A woven story of resilience and grit that is both breath-taking and beautiful. This extraordinary woven artwork embodies all of the struggles and successes which have defined our life and achievements. Thank you Lauren & Kass for creating such a meaningful piece that fits perfectly in our new home. All our family and friends are absolutely in awe of this gorgeous piece. We feel lucky to be the owners of such brilliant work.

CrossingThreads_RIPTIDE_Hero.jpg

‘RIPTIDE’ private commission.

‘RIPTIDE’ is such a beautiful piece. Crossing Threads have captured the turbulent waters that crash against the ochre seaweed encrusted cliffs. The colours are a true representation of my part of the coast. Everyone who sees it, wants to touch it and learn the story behind it. This piece certainly was created during very push and pull times. But despite the definition of ‘RIPTIDE’ and it’s danger, I look at this piece of beauty and wonder. I love looking at it and finding new little drifts I didn’t see before! I am beyond thrilled. It was a wonderful experience from my end. Thank you Lauren and Kass!

‘RENEWAL’ private commission.

Lauren and Kass were wonderful to work with. This was our first commission and they walked us through it flawlessly. We had an idea of what we wanted, but they ran with it and produced a piece of art that we love. They also ensured it was delivered without a hitch from Australia to the USA. Lauren and Kass are professional but more importantly very gifted artists. We would work again with them without hesitation and recommend anyone else to do so.

DEVOTION

‘DEVOTION’ private commission.

Lauren and Kass have been a delight to work with. Not only did they interpret our brief so well, but they have created more than just an artwork to hang in our home; Lauren and Kass have woven our story into the tapestry with such care and ‘devotion’ to their craft. We continue to find new beauty in it every day – the colours and textures change with the light and it’s intricacy is endless.

‘THE ARRIVAL’ private commission.

I contacted Kass as I’d watched Crossing Threads grow from its inception. As we have a connection going back some years, I knew of her kind heart, creative energy and exceptional capabilities in creative arts and beyond. I felt very strongly that I needed a piece of art to complete my home that had a deep meaning to me. I hoped it would evoke a particular type of energy as it caught my gaze each day. From our first conversation, I had no doubt the finished product would fill the brief. I am so happy I am fortunate enough to have this special piece to enjoy in my home and I know it will stay with my family for many years to come. I am full of gratitude!

‘NEST’ private commission.

I had been searching for quite a while for a special piece of textile art to hang on my walls and once I saw the beautiful and unique weavings produced by Lauren and Kass of Crossing Threads I knew I had found what I had been looking for. The commission process was extraordinarily professional with regular updates, images and material samples provided so I could even feel get a tactile feel of the end result and not just a visual impression. What I love about the work of Crossing Threads is that it fits into any style, modern and traditional but more importantly, I love the lushness, the intricacy, the combination of order and chaos and the overwhelming sense of calm I feel when looking at the works.

I gave Lauren and Kass full creative licence to produce my commission, with the only direction being colour tones. I am so thrilled with the final product. I feel so privileged to have had Kass work on this piece during her pregnancy and the incredibly beautiful description of ‘NEST’ that they provided with the work resonated so perfectly with me.

”Learning the delicate balance between holding on and surrendering” is particularly poignant to me as my two girls, now 10 and 12, are in the phase of life where one is clinging to childhood and the other is wanting to leave it behind and I am struggling with holding on to them as children and surrendering them to develop as their own independent people.

Thank you Lauren and Kass for somehow producing a work that I absolutely love, that looks amazing in its place and that means so much to me.

CrossingThreads_FAULTLINES_05__0000_1.jpg

‘FAULT LINES’ private commission.

‘FAULT LINES’ installed in our collector’s home.

FAULT LINES is a true work of art. It isn’t a moment in time, nor a story being told; it is a story still being written. From start to finish, Lauren and Kass have captured more than I ever could have imagined in this piece. Armed with both too few and too many ideas, they worked tirelessly with me to bring this piece to life. There is heart and soul - both mine and theirs - in each strand and void of ‘FAULT LINES’, and day after day it continues to take my breath away. ‘FAULT LINES’ is about our past, our present, and our future. It is our journey - the good and the bad and the best and the worst - and how they weave together to create something uniquely whole, forever altered by what came before but free to take new shape as we strive to create beautiful moments amidst life’s inevitable messiness. This piece and its process have brought closure to past chapters and optimism for those to come; it’s been both a gift and an honor to work with Lauren and Kass and for ‘FAULT LINES’ to find its home in mine.

‘CREVICE’ handwoven by Crossing Threads

The ‘CREVICE’ weaving exceeds my expectations. Thank you for adding such beauty to the world. I feel so lucky and grateful to have these in my home. I will admire them every day of my life.

The tassels are breath-taking. I can’t stop staring at them… they are even better than in the photos. I wish I knew what every single strand of fiber is. And the beads! All just perfect.
— Susana, United States

‘ENTANGLED’ handwoven by Crossing Threads

My piece ‘ENTANGLED’ is a beautiful embodiment of viewing life. Starting from the bottom, it’s a beautiful mess. As you move towards the top, it becomes less and less and eventually untangled. I’m at a point where I’m just beginning my career, and figuring out what I want in life. It’s chaotic, full of ideas, thoughts, wants, needs – just a mess. Every day, I strive to loosen those needs, eliminate the wants, focus on a few ideas instead of many and eventually create a clear, obvious path for myself. I also strive to shed all the desires in life, living simply and needing only the bare minimum. This piece resonates with me so beautifully, it’s like Crossing Threads created it just for me.

‘PAHIYAS’ handwoven by Crossing Threads

I have moved ‘PAHIYAS’ through ten different potential spaces, looking for the perfect spot to hang them. They look great everywhere I put them, so this is going to be tough deciding where to leave them. Beautiful work. Thank you.
