'EMANATE'
A R T I S T S T A T E M E N T
Influenced by the serene beauty of the Nerang River, ‘EMANATE’ captures its peaceful flow and vibrant energy. Handwoven by Kassandra, the tapestry beautifully portrays the interplay between resilience and acceptance, echoing the river’s dance with the forces it encounters. Just as the river shapes the land over time, the artwork reflects Kassandra’s journey through life’s twists and challenges.
Kassandra’s process parallels the river’s unpredictability. She surrenders to the loom, much like the river’s intuitive navigation. Amid an unexpected pregnancy, her art gained deeper meaning, intertwining colours and textures in an organic equilibrium between resistance and fluidity. Her art embodies the struggle to harmonise life’s roles amidst change, while the diverse palette reflects the spectrum of emotions that shape us. Kassandra’s work serves as a heartfelt reminder that similar to the river, we are shaped by how we face obstacles and embrace the beauty woven into our journey.
