THE CREATIVE KIND PODCAST
We recently had the privilege of sitting down with Julie Battisti from The Creative Kind Podcast to discuss the realities of building a creative business. Together, we explored what creative strategy looks like behind the scenes—not the polished version often seen online, but the day-to-day decisions that shape and sustain a creative practice.
We shared insights into how we run Crossing Threads, from our weekly workflow planning and communication systems to the frameworks we use to evaluate opportunities. We spoke about the importance of understanding return on investment beyond financial gain, considering factors such as brand positioning, relationships, community, exposure, and creative growth. We also discussed the value of saying no, identifying our ideal clients, and being intentional about where we invest our time and energy.
The conversation also touched on the more personal side of our journey: working together as sisters, navigating feedback and imposter syndrome, and how becoming mothers ultimately gave us the courage to pursue Crossing Threads full-time.
We're incredibly grateful to Julie for creating space for such an honest and thoughtful discussion. It was a joy to reflect on our journey, share what we've learned, and contribute to a conversation about building a sustainable creative practice.
