'UNSPOKEN TRUTH'
A R T I S T S T A T E M E N T
This large-scale tapestry draws on a series of vivid dreams, colours swirling through my subconscious and sweeping primaries caught in a storm of motion. Wanting to capture their urgency, I reached for my daughter’s crayons and sketched with sweeping, instinctive gestures, translating an energy that insisted on being seen.
The sensation felt like being underwater and looking toward the light, where rays refract into new possibilities. When I began to weave, the process unfolded quietly and intuitively, guided by something familiar and deep within my hands.
The work reflects my ongoing metamorphosis as a mother of two daughters. It softens the invisible weight of expectation and reshapes it into compassion. Through weaving, I have come to understand an unspoken truth: that beauty can be found within the chaos of motherhood, in moments that are fleeting but luminous.
Threads of chartreuse and red mark life’s intersections, the small but defining instants that shape who we become. Within the deep blues of fatigue and uncertainty, there are still gentle pauses, breaths between breaths, where I can begin again.
