“We’re all threads, which make up the tapestry of life”, says siblings Lauren and Kass Hernandez, whose heritage originated from the Philippines and are currently residing in Australia. Their journey began from an inconspicuous weaving course that became a turning point in their lives. Today, the Crossing Threads brand enjoys great success, and the sisters constantly exude passion and enthusiasm. They continue to explore the secrets behind their handmade work, which are inspired by the forms and colours found in nature, that in turn are reflected in the interior design elements. Each of their woven artworks contain a level of materiality and use a diverse range of materials such as marine ropes. Within each artwork there is a beautiful inscription “proudly woven and handmade with love in Australia”.
